CDC Victoria in collaboration with the City of Ballarat and V/Line recently delivered an informative and interactive BusAble session to members of the Chinese Australian Community in Ballarat. The BusAble program aims to provide bus travel education and information to those with accessibility barriers.
More than 30 participants attended this session (with a customized presentation in Mandarin alongside an interpreter) and gained valuable accessibility information and resources, myki basics, and safety education via classroom training and onboard a stationary bus.
The participants got an opportunity to ask all their questions about accessing public transport including how to get on a bus, touch on and off the Myki, access the bus ramp, usage of handrails, etc.
CDC Victoria delivers free BusAble community programs across our network, working with accessibility partners, to build travel confidence for those with personal accessibility barriers. For more information, visit https://cdcvictoria.com.au/accessibility/
