As part of the Victorian Government’s initiative to improve public transport accessibility, CDC Victoria was proud to support V/Line’s initiative, Try Before You Ride, by providing a mock bus and complimentary charter service for participants in Ballarat.
This hands-on event gave attendees the chance to:
- Practice boarding
- Learn about accessibility features
- Speak with staff about safe travel
With over 15 participants and support from partner organisations, including Dyson, Silver Top Taxis, the Local City of Ballarat, and Astec Mobility Solutions, these hands-on sessions help build confidence in using public transport, especially for people with accessibility needs.
V/Line runs three of these events each year—two in regional areas and one in central Melbourne at Southern Cross Station, where all transport operators come together to showcase every mode of public transport in Victoria.
