Our recent Staff Family Day Out brought together hundreds of staff and their families for a fun-filled, action-packed experience that truly delivered from start to finish.
With perfect weather, a vibrant crowd and great energy throughout, the atmosphere felt like a genuine celebration. For many attendees, it was their first time attending a live footy game, making the experience even more memorable.

There was something for everyone from the moment guests arrived. The Kids Zone quickly became a favourite, featuring face painting, giant Jenga, colouring and more. Families were able to relax while children stayed engaged and entertained.

A highlight for many was the opportunity to step onto the field. The halftime activities and the guard of honour created special moments for families, with plenty of proud and excited faces.
“Seeing the kids out there on the ground was a real standout, something they will talk about for a long time,” shared Harmanjit Singh, Operations Support, Albion depot.
“It was a great event and an opportunity to connect, relax and enjoy time with colleagues and family,” shared Walid Jomaa, driver, Truganina depot, who attended with his family.

“You don’t often get the chance to bring everyone together like that. It’d be great to see this become a regular event,” said Yen Hong Ang, driver, Westmeadows depot.
Adding to the occasion, the event was featured on the ABC live broadcast, a proud moment that showcased the strength of our community and the spirit of the day.

To cap it all off, the Tigers secured a win, bringing an extra level of excitement to an already memorable day.

In the lead-up, a great deal of planning went into making the day a success. From coordinating activities and logistics to ensuring a smooth experience for everyone attending, the preparation was strong and carefully considered. Narelle Lappin, Community Engagement Coordinator and one of the core team members involved in organising shared, “A big thank you to everyone involved in planning and delivering the day, and to all who attended and made it such a success. There was a lot happening behind the scenes, but the planning really came together on the day.”
Reflecting on the event, our Jeff Wilson, CEO CDC Victoria, shared: “Bringing our people together like this is incredibly important. It’s a chance to connect beyond the workplace, include families, and create shared experiences. Seeing the turnout and the positive energy across the day was very rewarding.”
It was a wonderful example of our community coming together, highlighting the importance of connection, inclusion, and creating shared experiences that bring people closer.
