On the 23rd of February 2009,                                          Pty Ltd officially acquired the Kefford Corporation’s group of Victorian bus companies. ComfortDelgro Cabcharge Pty Ltd is made of Singapore based company ComfortDelgro (51%) and Cabcharge Australia Limited (49%).

ComfortDelgro:

Listed separately on the Singapore Exchange, ComfortDelGro’s 75%-owned SBS Transit is the largest scheduled public bus operator in Singapore with more than 2,800 buses on 242 routes. In the private charter-bus industry, the Group's another subsidiary, ComfortDelGro Bus, is also the largest private land transport company, serving over 200 local contract customers.

The company also has extensive interests with bus operations in China, London, Scotland, Ireland and Australia.

Cabcharge Australia Limited:

Cabcharge was established in 1976 as a means for taxi operators and drivers to manage non-cash fares. Today the Cabcharge electronic payment system is found in over 96% of Australian taxis, limousines and water taxis. It is also available in some fleets around the world.

Cabcharge, founded by Mr Reginald Kermode, Chairman and CEO since inception, started as a partnership between Taxi Combined Services and Yellow Cab Group. It listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in December 1999 and is now one of the top 200 companies in Australia. It has achieved double digit growth in every year since listing.

 

In 2005, ComfortDelGro and Cabcharge acquired the businesses and assets of the largest bus operator, the Westbus Group in Australia's most populous state, New South Wales. This venture marked ComfortDelGro's entry into the Australian market. Our partner in this venture is Cabcharge Australia Limited who owns 49% of ComfortDelGro Cabcharge Pty Ltd.

In July 2006, the Group acquired bus routes and assets of Holroyd Bus Lines Pty Ltd in the New South Wales' Metropolitan Region 3. A year later, the Group acquired the business and assets of Toronto Bus Services, a bus and coach operator in the Newcastle region of New South Wales.

In November 2008, the Group entered into a contract to acquire the fourth largest bus operator in Victoria, the Kefford Group of bus companies. These Victorian operations are based in depots operating from Altona, Oakleigh, Sunshine and Werribee in metropolitan Melbourne and in the major regional centres of Geelong and Ballarat.
